Barefoot Sport is proud to welcome Andrew Matthews to the team: one of Australian athletics’ most experienced event and competition leaders.
Andrew brings a career built at the highest levels of the sport. He has held senior competition leadership roles at Athletics Australia, including as General Manager of Competition, and has led athletics competition delivery at the Commonwealth Games level. More recently, his work has spanned sport delivery and pathways at the state level with Athletics NSW, alongside a range of other roles across the Australian sporting landscape.
What that experience means for Barefoot’s partners is simple: someone who has run the biggest competitions in the country now sits behind the platform you use to run yours. Andrew understands event delivery from the inside — the logistics, the pressure, the thousand small decisions that decide whether an event runs smoothly or falls apart.
